I installed the Express edition of the server.. Installation was very straight forward.   However, I tried to use Active Directory in the configuration and was only allowed to use users in that local domain.   (We have a Forest Root Domain and then Child Domains)   So I reconfigured using LDAP authentication and changed the ports to 3268 (Using the Global Catalog instead of Domain Only port of 389)   Everything seems to work correctly.. However, I am only able to Active Directory authenticate users in the Same domain as the server.. (i.e. Server exists in CHILD1 Domain,   Users in CHILD2 can't authenticate)

Can you elaberate on how the AD authentication works with the Client and Server?
